Participants will engage in songs, creative games and imaginative prompts that get them up on their feet, developing emotional and physical awareness and control, and building their creative confidence as they express themselves through movement and improvisation. There are also optional follow-up activities that include arts and crafts, puppet making and drawing. (30 minutes).
Gr. 1-2
Through imaginative games, and gesture and movement work, participants will develop their ability to express themselves verbally and physically, building a confidence in their own creative ideas and their capacity to collaborate. There are also optional follow-up activities that include arts and crafts, puppet making and drawing. (60 minutes).
Gr. 3-4
By engaging in imaginative games, playing with different voices and exploring creative ways to express themselves physically, participants will deepen their drama skills. This term focuses on story-building, character creation and performance techniques. (60 minutes).
Gr. 5-6
This fun, active class, will provide participants the chance to get up and create on their feet, deepening their drama skills through improvisation, mime and character work, with a focus on narrative structure and scene development. (90 minutes)
Grade 7-8
This term we take play to the next level! Through theatre games and improvisation, participants will broaden their character building skills, investigate narrative structure, and how to create scenes. (120 minutes).
